On a cold drizzly Saturday morning in Concord this past weekend it was deja vu’ as West Coast's 2005 Wildkatz girls faced the Diablo FC 05 Blue team for the second time in two weeks. The first encounter ended in a 3-1 result for West Coast in NorCal’s Premier 04 Winter League. This game represented the continuation of NPL League play and the results were pretty much the same this time around as the Wildkatz put up a 3-0 shutout win against their often-played rivals in this NorCal NPL 05 matchup.

The scoring began early in the first half when Kamiryn Grimes resourcefully bodied in a corner kick from Karlee Lywandowsky that had bounced waist-high in front of the net. Shortly before the end of the first half Nadia Sherman found Lywandowsky who slammed a low screamer into the net for a 2-0 lead.

The second half saw a lot of back and forth action but no scoring until the very end when Zusette Zamora took matters into her own feet and single-handedly dribbled the ball down the left sideline, weaved through multiple-defenders then centered a brilliant negative pass for Cameron Silva to blast into the right corner to seal the win.

The Wildkatz defense was extremely strong and denied Diablo FC decent opportunities throughout the game.

The team's next games will be down in Morgan Hill at the CRL Performance Event.
