West Coast Wildfire clinched the CRL title in a back and forth battle on the final day of the California Regional League North Championships held in Tracy California at the new Legacy Sports Complex.  West Coast Wildfire met Jaws 99 from Santa Cruz to determine who would be going to Idaho to represent California North. This would be the second meeting of these two teams with the Jaws 99 edging out the Wildfire 2-1 in the first game. Wildfire were eager to get their revenge, Jaden Hall streaked past several Jaws defenders to cross a ball to Savannah Seals who managed to get through a crowd of players to score the first goal putting Wildfire up 1-0.

Second half Jaws 99 came out with some serious bite and tied up the game at one a piece. The Santa Cruz based team took another chomp at the wildfires defense resulting in a goal and giving the Jaws a 2-1 lead. Wildfire midfielders Meredith Hagler, Megan Clifton, Jessa Lyons Daniella Vallejo, McKenna Diaz did well to control the tempo of the second half and began to thread some passes to their teammates.  A great run from Jaden Hall forced Jaws to take the bait while she cast her cross to Savannah Boone who found the back of the net to tie the game up at 2-2. West Coast Defenders Isa Saavedra, Dakota Hawkins, Reagan Mah, Jessie Sotelo and Savannah Seals remained strong holding the back line and keeping the Jaws offense from scoring. West Coast Wildfire continued the attack resulting in several corner kicks at the end of regulation. A beautifully placed corner kick from Callie Crain bent over the heads of the Jaws backline and the Gk giving Wildfire a 3-2 victory in the California Regional League North Championships.

“This is an amazing time for our club, we have 4 CRL Champions, our West Coast Wildfire 00, Kaos 03, Wildkatz 05 & Krossfire 06 will be representing Northern California at the US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals held in Boisey Idaho June 17-23” said West Coast DOC and Head Coach Troy Dayak.
