U16 KAOS ADVANCE TO QTRS & WIN LOCAL DARBY AGAINST FUSION

West Coast Kaos U16G –   Moved two steps closer to a league and state cup championships.  Kaos beat out their cross-town rival, Livermore Fusion, 4-2 in NPL 1 league play.  The following day they knocked out Elk Grove’s IR Academy 4-1 to advance to the Norcal State Cup quarter-finals.

On Saturday at home, West Coast Kaos faced Livermore Fusion in a cross-town derby.  Kaos scored first at the 28 minute mark with a corner kick from Daisy Samuelson to Maddie Del Prado who headed the ball in for a goal. Del Prado followed her first goal with a solo run navigating through the middle of Fusion’s defense.  The half ended with West Coast leading 2-0.

The second half started with Kaos coming out on the offense.  Samuelson again from the corner connected with Jordyn Silva who headed the ball in for a goal.  At the 48thminute, Fusion scored their first goal of the match making the score 3-1.  At the 65ththminute, Fusion was awarded a PK in the box and executed to tighten the goal gap, 3-2.  Kaos responded at the 74thminute with Mariah Hinojosa connecting to Allison Rickman in the middle.  Rickman turned on her defender and fired off a shot that sailed into the top right corner of the Fusion goal.  Kaos closed out the match 4-2.   

In state cup knockout competition on Sunday, Kaos faced a favored IR Academy from ElK Grove.  Kaos scored first 8 minutes into the first half. Samuelson delivered another corner kick to Del Prado to find the back of the net.  At the 20 minute mark, Samuelson connected again to Zusette Zamora who delivered volley to give Kaos a 2-0 lead.  With seconds on the clock in the first half, IR Academy’s Forward found an open path through the Kaos defense and delivered a shot to make tighten the score to 2-1 at the half.

Determined not to let the chance to advance slip away, Kaos came out on fire at the start of the second half.  Two minute into the 2nd, Sameulson connected again from a corner to Anaya Shelton. The score was now 3-1.  IR Academy did not give up though, they went on the offensive and gave Kaos a real challenge.  At the 67thminute, IR Academy was awarded a PK in the box. The kick went to the left where Kaos Goal Keeper, Maddie Mannina, dove to knock the shot wide of the goal.  At the 75thminute, Midfielder Katie Zeck nailed a set piece that flew past the tips of the IR Academy Keeper to find the top right corner.  The match end with a Kaos 4-1 victory and ticket to the Norcal State Cup quarter-finals.

West Coast Kaos Advance to Quarterfinals – the U16G WCSC Kaos had two big wins over the weekend. They beat out Livermore Fusion 4-2 in NPL league play.  And, they knocked out IR Academy 4-1 to advance to Norcal State Cup Quarter-finals. Pictured in a wall to block a free kick are Alyssa Williams, Katie Zeck, Peyton Wooten, and Jordyn Silva.
