In a strong display of hard work, determination and most of all heart, the West Coast Krush 05 Girls team returned to NorCal Premier Spring play this past weekend, facing off against California Magic 05 in Orinda. The same team that had knocked Krush out of State Cup the weekend before.

Due to injuries Krush had to play shorthanded with only 11 players available for the game that remained scoreless until the middle of the second half, when Cal Magic scored. More determined than before, Krush kept up the attack on Cal Magic, finally capitalizing with a goal of their own. Paige McLean sent a corner kick into the box that was deflected by Cal Magic’s goalie. The deflection went right to Brooke Gale, who directed the ball right back to goal, sending the ball high into the upper corner of the net, right over the goalie. Krush continued their attack, with several strong shot attempts, but in the end the game concluded in a 1-1 tie. After the game. Coach Stuart Rafferty praised his players, saying “it was the best played game he had seen by Krush.”

With a record of 1-0-2, Krush remains undefeated in Spring League. Krush continues Spring League play this Sunday with a home game in Livermore. For information about Krush, including upcoming tryouts, visit www.westcoastsoccerclub.com.
