The West Coast Krush 05 Girls Team remains undefeated in NorCal Spring League after another win, followed with a tie, this past weekend.

Kicking off the weekend with a rare Friday night home game, against neighboring Pleasanton Rage 05. Krush started out strong, scoring first when Alexia Berlin crossed the ball to Sutton Denny at the top of the 18-yard box. Denny then curved her shot to the upper corner of the net, giving Krush a 1-0 lead. After Rage tied the game later in the first half, Krush went on a 4-1 run in the second. Berlin started the scoring drive with a strong shot to the goal. Then Lauren Stoneberger continued the scoring drive, recording three goals in a row, earning a hat trick for the game. Berlin and Jadynn King earned assists on two of Stoneberger’s goals. Rage scored once more, just before time expired, but in the end, it was not enough. Final Score 5-2 Krush.

Saturday morning, Krush traveled to Newark to battle Elite Soccer 05 Orange. In a game that was aggressive from the start, Elite scored the first goal of the game. Krush countered later in the first half when Berlin’s well-placed cross into the box allowed Kira Korsak to redirect the ball into the net, tying the game 1-1. Elite took a 2-1 lead into halftime, after scoring on a corner kick play. Not giving up, Krush scored their second goal of the game when Berlin (earning her second assist of the game) passed the ball up to Nadia Sherman. Sherman dribbled up the field, then shot the ball just outside the 18-yard box, over Elite’s charging goalie, dropping right in the center of the net, tying the game 2 all. Krush took the lead with less than five minutes to go when Sherman stole the ball from, then maneuvered around, Elite’s midfielder, to find Korsak up field. Korsak then worked her way towards the goal, sending a high chip shot from 20 yards out that arched its way into the goal, over the outstretched hand of the leaping goalie. Elite capitalized on an opportunity to score once more during the match with just over a minute to go, tying the game for the last time. Final score 3-3.
