The West Coast Krush 04 Girls team kicked off NorCal Premier Fall League play this past weekend in San Leandroleaving the pitch with 2-1 victory over Deportivo Barcelona.

The game was scoreless until midway through the first half when Krush scored the first of its two goals of the game. Victoria Rivera had passed the ball up to Emani Araya. Araya then battled back and forth with a Barcelona defender for possession of the ball, with Araya coming away with the ball in the end, and making the score.

Krush held the 1-0 lead until Barcelona tied the game with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game. With the clock counting down, Krush earned a free kick near the two-minute mark. Susan Contreras quickly kicked the ball up the field to Araya, who then passed the ball back to Brooke Gale. Gale then shot the ball, past a charging Barcelona defender, into the net, for the final goal of the game. Final score 2-1 Krush.

Krush resumes league play Saturday, September 7 with it’s first home game of the season in Livermore, against Napa United.
