WEST COAST SOCCER U16G KRUSH REMAIN UNDEFEATED

Four games into the NorCal Fall 2019 season, the West Coast Krush 04 Girls team remains undefeated after another victory and a hard-fought tie. 

Saturday Krush traveled far north to Dixon, taking on Dixon SC Leon 04G. In a tale of two halves, Dixon controlled the pace, and the ball, during the first half, outscoring Krush 4-2. For Krush’s first goal Julia Morfin sent the ball up to Taryn Tinsley. Tinsley tapped the ball around a Dixon midfielder, then continued to move the ball up the field, sending the ball into the net. Less than three minutes to go in the half, Krush scored again. Victoria Rivera intercepted a Dixon pass and sent the ball up the field to Carly Singleton. Singleton then tapped the ball into the left lower corner of the net, around Dixon’s charging keeper.

West Coast made some tactical adjustment during the break and In the second half it was Krush who controlled the tempo of the game, outscoring Dixon 3-1. Midway through the second half, after Dixon had scored their fifth goal, Kaya Brown found Francesca Ramos in front of the net. Ramos quickly received Robinson’s pass, turned and shot the ball into the goal. Next, Tinsley scored again, this time a header off a crossbar ricochet from Brooke Gale’s shot attempt. Finally, Singleton tied the game on a late free kick that sailed into the net, earning her a second goal of the game. Final score 5-5.

On Sunday, WCS Krush faced off against Association Football AFC in Oakland. Krush scored first, off a freekick play. Singleton’s crossed the ball into the box, where Ramos volleyed it in for the score. AFC tied the game later in the half, making the score 1-1 at halftime. AFC scored again in the second half, but Krush did not give up. Minutes later, Gale tied the game with a shot to the left far post, with Susan Contreras earning the assist. Less than a minute later Krush regained the lead when Singleton, off a quick touch pass from Tinsley, raced up the field and shot the ball just pass AFC’s goalie. Both teams continued to battle in the final minutes of the game. In the end, it was Krush walking off the pitch with the 3-2 victory. “ I’m extremely proud of our Krush team, they are making great adjustments and executing well” said West Coast Krush Head Coach Adaurie Dayak.
