WEST COAST SOCCER U19 GIRLS LOOKING STRONG IN NORCAL STATE CUP GROUP PLAY

West Coast U19 girls continue State Cup Group play with another win. On Sunday evening West Coast  geared up to play visitors Davis Legacy 01 girls team in the second match of group play in Norcal State Cup. Starting things off for West Coast, Heather Tarabini zipped by the Davis defenders and found Mia Mendoza who dink chipped the ball in the goal to put West Coast up 1-0. Midfielders Caitlin Carlton, Precious Martinez, Ashleigh Ward kept the ball In play creating several scoring opportunities. Second half West Coast forwards were on fire as Caitlyn Garrison and Jessa Lyons shined on the attack. Arianna Moore ignited the offense with multiple beautiful crosses eventually finding Mia Mendoza who struck again this time with a beautiful header finding the back of the net. “Our team practiced crossing and finishing all week, we had amazing crosses and I did my job getting to the right spots to score” said forward Mia Mendoza. Defenders Leila Ganz, Fayth Hinojosa, Holly McRitchie, Jordan Brown, Lindsey Plant and Julianne Munoz kept the Davis offense from scoring throughout the game. Goal keepers Tori Morfin had four saves in the first half and Lia Bedford with three in the second half to help earn the shutout.  West Coast is at the top of the table for Norcal state cup group play with one more game to go. Multiple players from the 01 Warriors team have verbally committed to play college ball including Mia Mendoza (Chico State), Caitlin Carlton (Chico State), Jessa Lyons (Indiana Tech), Leila Ganz (Humbolt State), Holly McRitchie (Masters University) Isabel Mello (Manhattanville College, NY), Jaden Hall (Cal State Fullerton), Heather Tarabini (Sacramento State University). West Coast Soccer Club was ranked #1 in NorCal for College Commits for the past five years.
