West Coast Kaos U17G – The U17 West Coast Kaos girls took a break from their Norcal Premier Champions League season to compete in the annual Placer United Girls Cup.  Kaos played up in the U19 super group and went undefeated to bring home the championship.  They outscored all their opponents with 15 goals and only 3 against.

Kaos started the tournament with a 7-0 shutout against Capital Valley United Crossfire.  The scoring started with Forward, Anaya Shelton and then followed additional goals from Jessie Sotelo, Bailey Gualco, and Haley Heffner.

Game two followed with a 5-2 win over the top ranked Rocklin Navy Heat.  Rocklin claimed the first goal from a deflection off a penalty kick. West Coast answered with a penalty kick of their own by Allison Rickman.  The half ended with the match even at 1-1.  After a pep talk from Coach Troy Dayak, Kaos came out firing and didn’t stop until they had racked up 4 more goals.

Kaos advanced to the semi-finals against the host team, Placer United 02 NPL, another Champions League team.  In a feisty and physical match, both teams battled to claim the first goal. Kaos managed to take several shots on goal but couldn’t sink any into the back of the net.  Regulation time ended with no score.  The girls went straight to PKs where Kaos made 4 goals and West Coast Keeper Madeleine Mannina  saved two. The match ended with a 1-0 Kaos win and a spot in the championship game.

Late Sunday afternoon, Kaos faced the 2019 USYS U18G State Champions San Jose Surf in the final match of the tournament.  At the 16 minute mark in the first half, Kaos’ Shelton scored her first goal on a breakaway from the right. Shelton got into the top of the 18 and delivered a low shot to the left corner of the goal.  Five minutes later, Shelton repeated with another breakaway and a high shot out of reach of San Jose Surf Keeper.  With seconds on the clock, San Jose was awarded a penalty kick in the box which converted to their only goal of the match.  Kaos closed out the tournament with a 2-1 win to claim the championship cup.

Kaos heads into November with more Champions League play, the Norcal College Showcase, and a trip south to play in the Silverlakes College Showcase.
