This past weekend, West Coast Soccer's U14 NPL team, Krossfire, traveled to the Sacramento area to compete in the Super Group of the prestigious Placer Girls Cup tournament. The competition started early Saturday morning as Krossfire saw a familiar foe in Burlingame BSC 2006G NPL. Burlingame's tactical attack challenged the Krossfire defense throughout the entire first half. Krossfire would give up two goals and go into half down 0-2. After halftime adjustments by Coach Troy Dayak, West Coast attack came alive. Macy Kreighbaum, Kayla Robinson, and Paige McLean would all net goals while the defense held strong to get the come from behind 3-2 victory.

Saturday afternoon saw Krossfire facing another familiar foe in Folsom Lake Earthquakes Premier '06G. Both teams battled throughout the midfield trying to gain control. Payton Hoover would strike first, netting a goal off a drop kick pass from Jordan Oshana to give Krossfire the 1-0 lead. The second half West Coast began to pull ahead in all areas of the game but Folsom found a hole and knock in the equalizer goal. Not to be outdone, Krossfire answered back with two more goals of their own from Gianna Ramirez and Robinson. Krossfire would take the 3-1 victory and control of their bracket.

Sunday morning started very early for Krossfire as they faced a new challenge in Cook Inlet Velocity 06G from Alaska. The winds were strong, but the Krossfire attack was stronger. Ava Coverdale would get Krossfire on the board early, knocking in a deflected shot to take a 1-0 lead. From that point on, Krossfire never looked back. Gabby Carlton and Jasleen Gasca would each add goals for Krossfire in the second half, sealing the 3-0 victory and a trip to the Super Group Championship.

The Super Group Championship pitted Krossfire against a very physical FC Sporting Chaos. With winds of 30+ mph and gusts over 50 mph, scoring opportunities were at a premium. Nearing the end of the first half, Payton Hoover split the Sporting's defense and got Krossfire a

goal. The second half was a back and forth battle as both defenses worked overtime to stop any offensive attack. About halfway through the half, Kayla Robinson Burst past two defenders for the second Krossfire goal. The Krossfire defense would then hold strong and take the 2-0 victory and the tournament championship.  West Coast Soccer Krossfire U14 Girls will resume NPL Champions League play followed by the SilverLakes College Showcase down south over Thanksgiving weekend.
