West Coast 2009 NPL Wolfpack hosted San Ramon NPL on the cool morning of Sunday. Ten minutes after kickoff Tracy resident, Madelynn Hernandez, passed the ball to Savannah Williams who placed the ball in the back of San Ramon’s goal for the first goal of the game. Just under fifteen minutes in, a San Ramon forward broke through the defense and was faced one on one with West Coast Goalkeeper, Megan Silva, who saved the shot. Thirty one minutes in, Williams returned an assist to Hernandez who scored the second goal for the team giving West Coast a 2-0 lead at halftime. Just over a minute after kickoff, San Ramon was able to find the back of the net to put the score at 2-1. No more than 3 minutes later Hernandez dribbled down the right side of the field past multiple San Ramon defenders and soared a shot over San Ramon goalkeeper to hold the 3-1 lead over San Ramon. With West Coast Wolfpack’s strong defensive line of Yazmin Karcher, Bella Arellano, Katie Adkins, Taylor Caioli, Ashley Browning, Madelynn Hernandez, and Megan Silva (GK), no further goals were scored resulting in West Coast defeating San Ramon 3-1. Silva ended the game with four big saves and West Coast had 6 strong shots on goal by Williams (2), Hernandez (3), and Alivia Narducci-Chiunti (1). Hernandez stated after the game, “We came together as a team with good passing and great communication. Our good communication helped us win. I am proud of myself for my goal assist and scoring 2 goals in the game. We all have been working hard.” You can find more information about Wolfpack and West Coast Soccer Club at westcoastsoccerclub.com
