On the rainy morning of September 18th West Coast 2009 GA team hosted Los Gatos United at Legacy Fields in Tracy. With West Coast starting off with the wind at their advantage, in the first nine minutes Aliya Lopez crossed the ball to Ashley Browning who found the back of the net. At minute fifteen Madelynn Hernandez crossed the ball on the left and Valeria Fuentes Quinonez scored. Seven minutes later Melanie Martinez crossed the ball into the box, after many attempts from Los Gatos to clear it out, Browning found the ball and placed it in the back of the net for her second goal of the game. Just ten minutes before halftime, Kylie Brasil found Isabella Smith who blasted the ball into the goal with her left foot. The wind and rain picked up in the second half as West Coast was now going against the wind. The possession was very back and forth but ultimately no goals were scored in the second half, resulting in West Cost 2009 GA winning 4-0 over Los Gatos 2009 GA. Head coach, Adaurie Dayak stated, “The girls knew to bring it in the first half having the wind at our advantage. Second half the wind really picked up and the team had to adjust together to keep a shutout. I am proud of how hard they worked and the effort given throughout the whole game.”
