On November 6th West Coast 2011 played in their State Cup match against hosting team: IR Academy. In the first half Francesca Romagna exploded with speed in the opponent's half on a breakaway, beat IR Academy goalkeeper to the ball, and scored the first goal of the match. With a 1-0 lead going into the second half, West Coast held the lead until the final few minutes. An IR Academy forward was battling with Warriors defense, and with a scramble of attempts from both teams to get control of the ball, it found its way into Warriors goal. With only minutes left, Warriors pressed high to try to get a goal. With less than a minute left in the game, Romagna received the ball again from a through ball and placed the ball neatly into the goal to seal the 2-1 win for West Coast Warriors. Warriors now move on to the next round of State Cup coming up in December.
