From Mountain House WCS Recreational Soccer Director, “Our Spring 2023 season was a success thanks to our coaches/parents who volunteered their time and made a commitment to our players.

All the games were competitive and positive. Having the chance to watch most of the games and talk to the players they were so excited to share their accomplishments. Saying things like, did you see my pullback, did you see me block that shot, did you see my pass, did you see me make that goal? Just the joy and excitement on their faces is what WCS thrives for !!!

Over the season I have seen tremendous growth in the player’s skill levels both individually and collectively as a team.

Our U6 -U8 age groups worked very hard on spacing and sharing the ball while learning individual skills such as Dribbling/Ball handling, Passing/trapping, Shooting, Defense, Small-sided games, Scrimmages, Cooperative (Teaching), and Competitive (Test).

For our U10-U13 school age groups, it was great to see the players/ teams use what they learned in previous pieces of training such as Moving off the ball, Give and Go (Wall Pass), Combination passing, Positive/negative passing, Defensive formations, Attacking, Counter attacks, and Building from the back.

Our (Academy) division was tremendous, the games were so well played and so competitive. It’s great to see the development of our players over the years who have now taken their game to the next level.

The MHHS teams have many players who have come through our Rec program, several WCS freshmen both boys and girls made the varsity teams while others have joined our WCS competitive teams. Congrats tremendous accomplishment! I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped make this a successful spring season and hope to see you all in the Fall for an even bigger and better season!”
