This past weekend, the West Coast 2011 Rapids participated in the Clover Cup Tournament in Dublin, CA. The team had an undefeated performance during the tournament. On Sunday, March 17th they staged an amazing comeback and won in the Championship Game that ended in a penalty shoot-out. Being down 2-0 at halftime, the team showed tremendous heart, fighting their way back and tying the score 2-2 with goals by Jaiden Castrejon and Anthony Ballard, bringing the game to overtime. They eventually went to a shoot-out where a crucial block by the goalie Mason Delapena helped secure the win and the First Place Trophy for the Rapids. Congratulations to Coach Frank, Coach Thomas, and the entire West Coast Rapids team!
