The 08 Kraze continued to elevate their profile this fall, competing in three of the top college showcases in the nation this time of year, the ECNL National Event in Phoenix, the NorCal League Cup/College Showcase in Davis, and Surf College Cup in San Diego. Across all three events, the team impressed not only with their play but with the growing attention from college coaches, who consistently lined the sidelines to scout West Coast players.

National ECNL Event – Phoenix, AZ

The journey began in Phoenix, where the Kraze faced some of the toughest competition in the country, including full ECNL teams from Texas and Florida.

The level of play was intense, physical, and fast and challenged the team competitively in each game.

Jada Hart and Danielle Rey were dangerous all weekend, creating chances with her pace, finishing ability, and relentless pressure.
Lillian Cooke and Aliya Lopez sparked the attack with sharp distribution and strong combination play, consistently breaking lines.

In the final third Kylie Brasil, and Kiara Walker added speed and creativity, while contributing key minutes and attacking depth.

In midfield, Gio Peralta, Anna Mendoza, Valeria Fuentes, and Maddie Mckiernan battled against top national opponents, showing composure, toughness, and the ability to control tempo under pressure.

Defensively, Brooklyn Cornish, Claire Gornik, Bella Smith, Mia Moniz and Rachel Warter stayed organized and disciplined against high-powered forward lines, winning crucial tackles and disrupting attacks.

Taylen Dayak added important energy on both sides of the ball, pressing relentlessly and helping win possessions in transition.

In goal, Avery Gleason made several standout saves and impressed college coaches with her ability to command the box and distribute effectively.

And throughout the event, college coaches filled the sidelines, a clear recognition of West Coast Kraze talent.

League Cup / NorCal College Showcase – Davis, CA

If Phoenix showed the Kraze’s resilience, Davis showcased their dominance.

Coming off from a super competitive national ECNL event West Coast Kraze finished top of the entire NorCal League Cup tournament , scoring 18 goals while allowing only 1 goal against.

Jada Hart continued her clinical form, Peralta and Walker dictated the rhythm in the middle, and Brasil, Fuentes, Mckiernan and Mendoza remained major offensive sparks. Rey and Curiel were a strong offensive force.

The back line: Gornik, Smith, Cornish and Warter, was nearly impenetrable, while Gleason and Camacho earned another standout weekend in goal. Strong contributions from Dayak, Anowia, Lopez, and Moniz reinforced the team’s depth, turning the Kraze into a complete and balanced force.

Surf College Cup – San Diego, CA

Over Thanksgiving weekend, the Kraze closed their showcase run at San Diego Surf Cup, one of the most prestigious youth tournaments in the nation.

The team tied for first place in their bracket going undefeated in all games.

The Kraze’s play was consistent, disciplined, and confident, college coaches lined the fields to watch them perform and had positive feedback about the players and team.

A Statement Fall for the 08 Kraze

Across three elite showcases, the Kraze proved they belong on the biggest stages in youth soccer. They faced national-level talent, dominated regional competition, and showcased a complete roster of players capable of competing at the collegiate level.

This fall didn’t just highlight the strength of the 2008 Kraze, it showcased the depth and momentum of the entire recruitable age groups in the West Coast Soccer Club program. The 2010 and 2009 teams mirrored the success of the 2008s, earning invitations to top national college showcases of their own and proving they belong among the country’s elite. Their performances were competitive and full of the same trademark West Coast intensity, further reinforcing the club’s growing reputation for developing talented, college-ready athletes.

In just 15 years since the first eligible graduating class in 2013, West Coast Soccer has remained committed to helping players reach the next level. Averaging nearly 15 college-bound athletes per year, the club has built a proud tradition of developing student-athletes who not only succeed in the classroom and on the field, but thrive at the collegiate level. Several West Coast alumni have continued on to play professionally after college, a testament to the club’s player-development pathway and the dedication of their athletes, families, and coaches.
