This weekend West Coast Soccer’s premier girls 06 team, Krossfire, was slated for a pair of matches against two, physical teams. Saturday morning Krossfire went on the road for a NorCal Premier Fall League match against Lamorinda 06 Navy Pre-Academy. Strong play by the Lamorinda defense along with very aggressive goalkeeping kept Krossfire’s attack from making anything happen for most of the game. Nearing the end of the match, Gianna Ramirez connected with Payton Hoover who was able to put one past the Lamorinda goalie to give Krossfire the 1-0 lead. Gianna added an insurance goal off a pass from Gabby Carlton. Krossfire took the win 2-0.

Sunday morning saw Krossfire hosting Mavericks 06 Black in the first of three NorCal State Cup first round matches. Dakota Baird connected with Alana Albarran who put one past the Mavericks keeper to put Krossfire up 1-0. Mavericks would quickly answer back, though, tying it up 1-1. Nearing the end of the first half Payton Hoover connected with Albarran who netted her second goal to give Krossfire the 2-1 halftime lead. The second half saw the Mavericks come out firing. They knocked in another equalizer rather quickly. Krossfire would not give up, though. Sophia Simonds sent a great through ball downfield to Hoover who put it past the keeper to give Krossfire the 3-2 lead. Hoover would then add an unassisted goal to finish off the hat trick knocking in a pass from Albarran to secure the 5-2 victory for Krossfire.

Next up for Krossfire is a NorCal Premier Fall League match against Pleasanton Rage 06 Elite on Saturday.
