West Coast U16 Girls - The two West Coast U16 girls teams scored shutout road wins over the weekend.   West Coast Karma out played San Ramon Navy to win 3-0 in Norcal league play.   West Coast Kaos delivered a 5-0 punch over Marin Red in Norcal State Cup play. 

On the road in Marin, the West Coast Kaos U16 girls played their first state cup qualifier of the season with a match over Marin Red.  Within the first few minutes, Kaos delivered their first strike of match from a cross by Alyssa Williams to Forward Alivia Ganz who nailed a shot from the left.  Twelve minutes later, Williams again crossed to the center of the box to connect to Forward Maddie Del Prado who leaped up and headed the ball past the Marin Keeper for a goal.  A few minutes later, Williams again crossed the ball into the box to an attacking Ganz who made her second goal of the match.    Late in the first half, Kaos was awarded a free kick in the Marin mid-field, Jordyn Silva took the kick and delivered a perfectly placed cross which was received by Del Prado who tapped it in for her second goal of the match.  Kaos moved ahead 4-0 at the half.

In the second half, Coach Troy Dayak shuffled the deck to try a few new formations.  "With a solid lead, we took the opportunity to try a few new tactical strategies we've been practicing," said Coach Dayak.  "The girls worked together and executed as planned with runs from the back, control of the middle, and different players attacking the goal.  Our mids and defense had total control of the match.  Our opponent only made one attempt on goal which was superbly handled by our Keeper." 

At the 75th minute, a Marin Forward collected a long ball catching the majority of Kaos' defense in the attacking half of the field.  Making runs back from the midfield, Defender Jayden Sanders and holding Mid-field, Kate Zeck, closed in on their opponent giving her no choice but to get tackled or get a shot off.  The Marin Forward took her shot from well outside the '18 box. The shot was a solid line drive to the left side of the Kaos goal.  Kaos' Keeper, Maddie Mannina, made a diving attempt with outstretched arms.  Mannina got her fingers on the ball and pushed it wide of the goal frame.  This was the only shot on goal for Marin.

With five minutes left in the match, Defender Alyssa Williams made a run up the right side of the field.   Williams took the ball deep in the Marin midfield where she fired off on long ball clearing the Keeper's reach.  The shot dropped into the left side of the net.  Kaos moved ahead 5-0 and closed out the match with a shutout victory.
