The 2010 Quakes MH team split a pair of games over the weekend versus Mustang Blue Thunder. In a home league match on Saturday at Wicklund Park in Mountain House, the Quakes battled hard but lost a close 2-1 match. Dino Sheng scored the lone goal for West Coast with Rujal Sah creating several dangerous scoring chances. Neil Mishra performed well in goal with Neel Bollu and CJ Nelson anchoring the midfield.

In a return State Cup match against Mustang, the Quakes went down 1-0 early but battled back for a 2-1 victory. Dino Sheng scored first with a long range shot in the first half to send the team in even at halftime. Neil Mishra scored the game winner on a counter attack off a corner kick, beating the Mustang defenders and driving home a shot from the edge of the penalty area. The Quakes stood firm through the rest of the match to bring home the win. Cruz Legorreta, Sarvin Varshney, Lucas Guthrie, and Caden Fraser gave strong defensive efforts.

"It's always interesting to play the same team in back-to-back games. We asked the boys to make a few adjustments in the State Cup game and the team responded well. It was great to have our Director of Coaching Troy Dayak on the bench with us during the match. More important than the result, we're looking for our players to apply our practice ideas to each game, learn and grow from mistakes, and work hard for their teammates." - Coach Scott Schoenthal
