After two NPL matches that ended in a draw, Wildkatz 05 were ready to break the streak as they met San Jose Earthquakes Pre-DA 05 for their fourth NPL match on Saturday, October 6th.  From the first whistle, WCS dominated play. Despite keeping the ball on the Earthquakes half of the pitch and firing shots at the goal for majority of the first half the Wildkatz could not find the net.  Jayden Morton finally broke the seal when she stripped the ball and banged it over the keeper into the upper corner from 30 yards out giving Wildkatz the 1-0 lead.  Shortly after, Cameron Silva dribbled the ball down the field and crossed it in front of the goal to Alexia Berlin who slotted the ball past the keeper giving the WildKatz a 2-0 lead before the half.  Minutes into the second half, Earthquakes found the back of the net on their only registered shot of the half. Wildkatz kept Earthquakes scoreless for the rest of the match and took home the 2-1 win against the #1 ranked team in the state.

Wildkatz met Palo Alto SC 06 Blue on Sunday, October 7th.

Eager to keep their NPL winning streak alive, Wildkatz began the game with a barrage of shots on Palo Alto’s goal.  After over a dozen shots by several different Wildkatz players, Cameron Silva got the ball over the keeper’s head to give Wildkatz the 1-0 lead.  Wildkatz continued to dominate play as Zusette Zamora dribbled past multiple defenders and crossed the ball to Silva who snuck one past the goal keeper, putting Wildkatz up 2-0.  Kamiryn Grimes was a handful on offense serving in crosses and ripping shots. With only a couple minutes left in the first half, Silva completed a hat-trickas when she tickled the net,  but she wasn’t done yet as she scored again to claim the “haul” getting all four goals of the match. Bella Gelao, Madison Reid, Jasmine Staples, Taryn Richey, Sydney Goodwin, Makenna Galvan, Makena Ross and Alexi Berlin were a forcefield around their goal repelling Palo Altos attack, keeping their opponent scoreless throughout the match.  West Coast Wildkatz Jayden Morton, Karlee Lywandowsky, Jadynn King locked down the center of the field while Nadia Sherman and newcomer Hailey Rodaer provided some punch in the attack. Next up for Wildkatz is the continuation of NorCal State Cup play with matches against Diablo FC 05 and Brentwood’s Impact 05 Green on October 13th and 14th.

Cameron Silva scored four as Wildkatz cruises past Palo Alto.
