The West Coast Krush 05 Girls team completed the NorCal State Cup Group Stage with back-to-back wins this past weekend in Livermore, finishing the round undefeated and in first place in the gold bracket.

Saturday afternoon Krush faced off against North Coast FC NCFC 05G Windsor. Krush took a 2-0 lead into halftime after a pair of late goals. First, Paige McLean sent a shot from outside the 18-yard box high into the net, assisted by Kayla Robinson. Minutes later Kira Korsak scored the second goal after intercepting a clearing pass from North Coast’s defense. In the second half, Carly Singleton stole the ball from a North Coast defender, then sent a cross directly into the net, giving Krush a 3-0 lead. After a goal from North Coast, Krush countered with one final goal of their own. Sophia Simonds crossed the ball towards the front net from the outside, allowing McLean to head the ball into the goal, giving Krush their fourth, and final goal of the game. Final score 4-1

San Leandro Sporting United SC SLSU 05G came to Livermore on Sunday for Krush’s final game of Group Stage play. Krush took the lead less than five minutes into the game when McLean scored on a rebound shot, after a block by San Leandro’s goalie. Later in the half, Korsak intercepted a San Leandro pass, sending the ball up to Robinson, who ran up the field and shot the ball into the far corner of the net for Krush’s second goal of the game. McLean scored again, this time in the second half, off a cross from Vanessa Gomez, securing the victory for Krush. Final score 3-0, with goalie Cassidy Pearson earning the shutout, off strong play by Krush’ defense line of Lauren Stoneberger, Brooke Gale and Brittany Hahn.

Krush returns to NorCal Fall League play against Mustang SC this Saturday in Danville.
