West Coast Soccer Club’s girls team WildKatz 05 finished out the group stage of NorCal State Cup play with matches against Diablo FC 05 Blue of Concord and Impact NPL 05 Green of Brentwood.  On Saturday, October 13th, WildKatz started the match against Diablo FC with control of the ball, Karlee Lywandowsky found the net first with a thunderous kick sending the ball to the upper right corner of the net giving WildKatz an early lead. Minutes later, Zusette Zamora dribbled through Diablo defenders and slipped the ball past the keeper, putting WildKatz up 2-0.  Taryn Richey headed the ball from a corner kick toward the goal and found Kamiryn Grimes who smashed the ball to the back of the net, Grimes would find the net again before the end of the first half and Wildkatz had 4-0 lead.  As the second half began, WildKatz continued to dominate play, however on one of Diablo only shots on goal, They managed to score.  WildKatz answered Diablo’s goal with another goal by Lywandowsky and the match ended with a 5-1 victory for WildKatz.

On Sunday, October 14th, WildKatz met Brentwood Impact 05 Green.  From the first whistle, WildKatz dominated play.  Karlee Lywandowsky once again scored the opening goal for WildKatz on a shot from the top of the goal box that soared over the keeper and into the back of the net.  Exceptional passes from West Coast midfielders lead to more shots on goal. Kamiryn Grimes cross to Cameron Silva who tapped the ball past the keeper for goal two.  Silva connected with Savannah Cordero in front of Impact’s goal and Cordero put West Coast up 3-0 at the half.  WildKatz possession continued in the second half and the defense from Madison Reid, Jasmine Staples, Makenna Galvan, Makena Ross, Nadia Sherman & GK Isabella Gelao kept Impact SC from registering any shots on goal.  Silva got the scoring started again from a strong shot that hit the upper corner followed by Zusette Zamora quickly after with a drive down the field and shot to score.  Zamora, Grimes and Lywandowsky would seal the WildKatz win with another goal each in the match.  Forwards and midfielders Jayden Morton, Jayden King, Nadia Sherman and Alexia Berlin were also pivotal in keeping the ball on Impact’s side of the field. WildKatz ended the first stage of NorCal State Cup play with 21 goals for and only 1 goal against sealing the 1st place spot in group stage action. Next up for WildKatz is the continuation of NPL play with a match against Santa Rosa United 05 ECNL on October 20th, in Livermore.
