On a wet Saturday morning at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex, West Coast Koyotes played against San Ramon in the Quarterfinals of Norcal State Cup. Six minutes into the first half, Natalie Miller made a great pass through the water puddles to Sophia Rodriguez, who fought through the defense to get the shot off. The ball was ripped into the back of the San Ramon net to get a 1-0 lead for the Koyotes in the first half. When second half came, after the Koyotes battled for 13 minutes, Rodriguez returned the favor by passing the ball to Miller to get the Koyotes their second goal of the game. The game ended as a 2-0 shutout for Parker Black which moved the Koyotes on into the semifinals the same day.

The semifinals began at 2:45 against Heritage at the now muddy fields of Davis Legacy Soccer Complex. In the beginning of the first half, Heritage was able to score two goals against the Koyotes. 18 minutes into the first half, Peyton Stark fought to beat several Heritage defenders to get a pass off to Megan Silva who shot the ball past the Heritage goalkeeper to make it 1-2. With three minutes left in the first half, there was a scramble in the Heritage box with players left and right trying to get their foot on the ball. Cailey Sasaki finally found the ball at her feet, made the pass to Megan Silva who rang the ball into the back of the Heritage net. Second half was a hard fought battle between the two teams, but ended with a tie. There was 10 minutes of overtime of back and forth play, however, no team could finish their chances. The result was a penalty kick shootout. Heritage goalkeeper made a diving save for the Koyotes first shot. Koyote goalkeeper, Parker Black answered back by making a great save on the third shot. It was a battle back and forth that ultimately ended in the Heritage win in penalty kicks. Koyotes head coach, Adaurie Dayak, stated, “I am very proud of how hard my girls played in both games today. Not one of the Koyote players had a clean jersey after the game, which shows how hard they fought for each other. These girls have come so far and I can’t wait to continue coaching them.”
