The West Coast 2010 MH Earthquakes completed a sweep of the State Cup elimination games over the weekend, winning their first State Cup title in the Bronze 3 division. In the semifinal match, the Quakes cruised to a comfortable 6-1 victory over LFC IAA Bay Area Academy. Dino Sheng scored a hat trick with Lucas Guthrie, CJ Nelson, and Rujal Sah also tallying for West Coast.

The Earthquakes won the final by a score 3-2 over a talented Ballistic United team. CJ Nelson opened the scoring early off a cleverly passed ball from Rujal Sah. West Coast doubled their lead on a well placed finish by Sah. After a goal by Ballistic, a brilliant save from goalie Neil Mishra from a free kick within 10 yards kept the difference at 1 goal. West Coast responded with a counter attack by a goal from Dino Sheng restoring the 2 goal lead until a late score by Ballistic made the final 3-2. Cruz Legorreta, Neel Bollu, and Lucas Guthrie anchored a strong Quakes defense. Caden Fraser and Sarvin Varsney aided in the team effort.

The 2010 MH Earthquakes are based in Mountain House and train at Wicklund Park. In their first fall season of competitive soccer, they have been a consistently hard working team, improving in their understanding of the game and technical skills.

“The boys have come a long way since their first few games this year. They are entertaining to watch and express some interesting ideas within the game. They have a great future ahead of them in the coming years” - Scott Schoenthal, Head Coach
